** Problems CD-ROM under Netware 3.11 and CorelSCSCI! ** Dear administrators, we are using following soft- and hardware: EISA-Server: CorelSCSI! V 1.01F CDROM-Server V 1.20 Netware 3.11 DataTechnology-Adapter DTC 3290AS (EISA) NEC CD-ROM Reader CDR 74 AUTOEXEC.NCF: load univ above16=yes host=0 load cdsvr100 mount Client: DOS 6.0 IPX/SPX 3.02 Rev A Netx 3.32 MSCDEX 2.22 and we sometimes have no access to the cd-rom on the file server! If I use CDMAP to see all the drives, everything is mapped and seems to be OK, but if I'd like to copy something, the error : "CDR101 not ready reading drive " occurs. I changed all hardware parts (except server) to be sure, that this is not the reason, but without success! I changed the IDs and so on. Who can help with an idea ? Could IPX be the reason ? By the way: a second server uses the same software: everything works fine! DET

Det, Here are some common things to check. Maker sure that the DTC controller is not set to SYNC negotiation. The NEC drive will have a problem with this. The version 1.02f is rather old. You can update to the latest driver free of charge plus shipping. Just place a message in our Customer Service area here on CS. Since the 3290 is an EISA controller, You do not need the ABOVE16=Y option on UNIV. This is for 16 bit Bus Mastering DMA using SCSI controllers only. I hope these things help. If not, I'll be here…<grin> Laszlo
