Liquid Speed–Vibrant ??
14 messages in this thread
Hi Greg,
I have a quick question and since you deal with these products you may be able
to help me…
I'm trying to understand the concept of the Liquid Speed product and also the
Vibrant Drivers…
1- What do these do that other drivers don't?
2- If I get them, is it hard to configure 3DS for them?
I am using the drivers that come with my VL BUS ATI Ultra Graphics Pro 2MB RAM,
should I just stick to these, or should I get Liquid Speed and the Vibrant?
And more importantly will they work with my ATI?
I thank you for your time…
Alex K.
Alex:
The Vibrant drivers come with 3DS3, so there is nothing to buy! Liquid Speed
is an add-on which doubles the speed of redraws in the 3d Editor and gives you
another 25% improvement in the keyframer.
The Vibrant drivers alone are usually faster than the native drivers which come
with your card, but do a test and let us know!

Great Greg,
Thank you for the info…

Alex,
PMJI, The 3D Studio drivers that came with your ATI are ours, but won't work
3DS R3. Use the in-line drivers that came with 3DS R3 (type "3DS vibcfg").
Your card will be listed specifically.
Liquid Speed is driver independant, so it'll work just fine — especially with
the in-line drivers. Call your dealer to get Liquid Speed. You'll never use
3DS again without it.
Best Regards, Brian
PS: If you prefer, email me you address and we'll get some info out to you.

could you maybe send along anything that you have that is basic in the

Ready Yet?

Hi Murph!
Yeah right! I've just gotten my fist animation printed to video. I haven't
received it yet, but I will today, hopefully. I'll see how it came out. I'll
let you know.
No, I'm not ready yet, but thanks for keeping in touch…
C ya.

Liquid Speed is not a driver. It optimizes the calculations that 3DS does to
redraw geometry in the 3D editor and keyframer. This increases work speed by
quite a lot. I find them indispensable, a real solution to a gripe I've had
for a while: waiting for large meshes to redraw everytime I do something.
If you have Prores/3D, Vibrant's drivers for R2, you're entitled to a fabulous
discount on Liquid Speed. Give them a ring.
