Strange that you did not get more responses from this one. I think it would be a great service, but you would have a very specific market. As for format support. I expect that you would need to support formats from S-VHS and up to appeal to the largest audience. One problem would be that animators (at least, myself) like to monitor the final rendering as it progresses. It would be sad to get a rendering back and find out there was a simple problem like a configuration setting that you forgot to specify. Of course, if your rates were right, it could be a huge success.

James, Thanks for the reply. You are right; I thought I would get more responses as well. I think that a *real* nice way to go is to use the new Abekas drivers, and send out to their service bureau for media conversion; looks very promising and allows me to focus on just one type of device! Let me know if you ever have a need for this type of service. -Mike.

Your original posting scrolled off the section pretty quickly. I have a friend interested in rendering projects fast. Since you mentioned Abekes, may I assume that you are offering D1 output to 8mm tape, too? Please re-post your original message, or else leave me private mail regarding service charges and avilability (eg. rendering times) David Porowski CIS:70461,3476
