SOFTWARE PIRACY
1 messages in this thread
True… Asgard doesn't quite operate on the scale of EA, but we gross a few
100,000 a year selling software to TI people – which in this industry makes us
bigger then maybe 4/5 of the companies out there. Our advertising costs have
been quite minimal due to our policies – you would be surprised to learn that
word-of-mouth is our mosteffective advertising. We send out hundreds of items a
month to user's groups on a lend basis – and we are quite well known in our
little sphere for providing reasonable quality software at more then reasonable
prices. We aso tend to sell "niche" items, and stay away fr – which helps since
our products often have little or no competition in their areas. We also
introduce about 4-8 new products a quarter. All this is by design though – we
are lookin for markete. I don't see where we would be a special case – our
formula is by no means unique, and variations have been tried, quite
successfully in other markets (Borlan, etc.) ~~~~~~~~~p~~~~~~~~~
Citing something and making it an excuse for everything isn't reasonable. No
one makes companies spend a lot on advertising – but big ads in fancy mags
stroke a lot of egos – so these folks literally have a lot of companies by the
p*bic hair. –> chris
