#Imagine networking

I'm posting here because I think my question may be of
interest to other Imagineers with the need for speed. As you are
using Amiga and PC platforms, do you know of a way to network both
systems using an Amiga as a server? I'd like to perhaps get a '486
or Pentium machine to help with rendering, but I want to keep my
tower 2000 ('040) as the server, as it has mega HD space, and of
course, the FC24 for output. Essentially, all my video comes from
the 2000. I also have a 4000 connected (sometimes) with PARNET that
should be included on the network. Any ideas?
I am working with Enlan-DFS on the Amiga. I recently got a product
called Pathworks from DEC. I haven't been successul yet in
networking the two systems, but I know it can be done. I just
haven't given it the time necessary. Which calls to mind some of the
comments made earlier about ease of use. I haven't come across
another product on the PC, except Imagine, which didn't require hours
or days of fiddling around to get the installation right! –Rick
I have been using Enlan-DFS and Pathworks for a long time. I'd be
happy to help with any problems.

Terrific. First off, Steve, what's the minimum I need to install on
the PC side? I haven't had the time to go through all those manuals!
Second, will I be able to run the system in a pure peer to peer sense
or will the PC have to become a server? Ideally, I'd like to just
have Imagine PC save over to my PAR on the Amiga side. –Rick
