If there were a huge party/wake to celebrate the 1 year aniversery of C='s liquidation, would you want to come? We are making plans and need a quick answer from anyone wanting to make tentative plans to attend (please email me). Our plans are still tentative. At this time, we are polling CIS users. Please don't repost this information at this time (there will be official announcements later). Lots of former Commodore people want to throw a party and want to invite the whole Amiga community. Many Commodore people who would have flown in for the Deathbed Vigil party didn't have enough notice, and are looking forward to flying in for this event. We may have "famous Amiga users," lots of third party developers, etc. Kinda like a DevCon, but with less expense, no NDAs and everyone is invited. We are tentatively planning for an event at a conference facility in the Philadelphia area from about 2pm to 10pm on Saturday, April 29, 1995. Dinner and beer/wine would be included, cost would be less than $50. We would have speakers, activites, etc., with details to be announced very soon. There would probably be lots of informal activities all weekend long. Again, if you think you'd be interested, please email me. If you think it is a stupid idea, please email me. If you have suggestions, comments, etc., please email me.

I am not a long-time member of the community and so, perhaps, cannot fully share in the full extent of the emotions that dedicated Amigophiles have experienced over the past few years and the past year in particular, However, I have recently invested quite a bit in a Flyer system and another Toaster and certainly feel a very strong desire for some for of Amiga support to continue. Therefore, my selfish interest is to combine any retrospective/wake-like event with some visioning that provides justifiable hope and some form of action – if at all possible – wherebye this extraordinary community – can continue to support and even develop the technology. Also – by April 29th, there should be an owner of the remnants of Commodore who is doing something with it. Michael

>there should be an owner of the remnants of Commodore who is doing >something with it For the first time in six months, someone has said something other than "two more weeks!" 🙂

Sonds like a _GREAT_ idea…. Perhaps there could even be a hotline installed to keep the party goers up to date on the latest, on the almost completed liquidation. <grin> Actually the first part is a great idea, and as for the second part, perhaps you could invite Alex and David, and they could have a coin toss on stage to decide who gets the nod. Course then you'd have to decide whether the winner gets it, or the looser has to take it. – Alex… Celebrating 10 years on Compuserve

Are you located near by, or would you and your buddies be taking a long road trip or flying in? I'm trying to gauge whether this has more than former C= and local interest.

Dale, I belong to the Amiga Video Graphics user group. We would all probably drive. We are located in south/central Jersey. John

As a loyal Amiga user, I would certainly be interested in attending. Being that I live in NJ (less than an hour from Philly) helps too. So here's my vote to attend. –Steve–

Dale, . I'll go. Put me on the party list. I'm in the Pfilthadelphia area's backyard. No more than a 30-45 minute drive depending on location of the conference facility's locale. Christopher

Yes. And tomatoes will be provided to all other attendees if either accepts the invitation.

"Yes. And tomatoes will be provided to all other attendees if either accepts the invitation." I think large stones would be more appropriate for those 2 scoundrals. // John (Warp 4040 & Emplant Quadra 840) \X/ Mercury@ins.infonet.net

I'd go and I think any movement to unite Amiga users in a positive way is always an excellent idea. Mike.
