#Presentation Packages

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can/will give me their .02 worth about
what presentation/authoring packages you're using or have used. We're
looking at starting a "multi-media" department where I work and want
to get a feel for what's most popular, what sucks, etc. So far we're
considering Compel, Action!, and some of the others we already carry
like PowerPoint, Harvard Graphics etc. I've also heard a few things
about Adobe Premier (?). Any information would be most appreciated.

On the high end, check out Authorware Professional from Macromedia. It's
probably a lot more than most people need, though.
Adobe Premier is a _great_ application. Tied in with a VideoLogic's Mediaspace
and DV-4000 boards, (realtime compression/decompression), it can do some
*amazing* video and audio editing for multimedia. Not quite up to par for
video-out, but great for in house computer presentations.

For an inexpensive but POWERFULL authoring program, you might consider using
ImageQ from Image North 800-363-3400. It doesn't animate objects in the way of
Action! or Compel but it is MUCH more flexible in terms of control of the
