#Two weeks again
7 messages in this thread
For what it is worth, C=UK told me yesterday that the papers will be signed
this week and then the auction will take place; the period during which anyone
can put in a better bid will be 14 days from when the papers are signed.
The C=UK lawyers have already been over there two weeks and have instructions
not to come back until the deed is done.
So, if that happens (says he with extreme scepticism in his voice), by this
time next month things should be a lot clearer.

Two weeks again…

Yes, but can you come to the party?
And, just for statistical purposes, how many other times has "C=UK" told you
that papers would be signed "this week?"
🙂
Can I come to the party? No, sorry, too busy counting how many times C=UK has
said "this week" to me. 😉

Do I perceive a sense of deja vu?

"Do I perceive a sense of deja vu?"
Actually this might be termed the beginning of the "bright side" period.
Consider the amount of time that has passed, the dissipation of Commodore's
estate in paying the trustees and attorneys and the lessening interest in the
marketplace.
All of this means that the eventual purchaser pays out less money for the
remainder of the estate and has that much more left for development and
marketing.
My person feeling remains that the Amiga is best positioned as a niche
machine, catering to the needs of video and kiosk producers who need its
specific capabilities and would probably pay a slight premium to get them. A
reborn Amiga might not be a mass market item, but it could almost certainly
survive as a profitable niche machine.
