Graphite Pro rendering

I have just (2 wks ago) installed a Graphite Pro VL 2mb. I am NOT running QEMM
(nor EMM386, and thus am NOT excluding a000-c7ff in config.sys, although I AM
excluding it in [386Enh] in system.ini), I am also running DOS 5.0 as you are.
As others have suggested, remove those VIBCFG and RCPADI set's. Dunno if they
hurt, but they sure aren't needed–I know, I know, it's tough to break away
from the mysticism and incantations with which you've been inculcated in
Autodesk/ADI-land! <snort, g>
I am able to run the Materials Editor in 640x800x24-bit (all 7 swatchs display
in color–whee!), and rendering at 24- or 15-bit is OK, too.
Regarding Windows…ungh! I _have_ been able to run, but not in the background
(rendering execution stops until I re-open the 3ds window). And I am unable to
run the Materials Editor–get an error message from either Vibrant or 3ds or
both. (I _was_ able to bkgnd-render with a Viper card I tested for a week, so
it seems to be a Graphite-specific problem)
What I've done is create (via "3ds vibcfg") a 3ds.set file that looks like:
MAIN-DISPLAY = VGA
MATERIAL-DISPLAY = VESA
RENDER-DISPLAY = VGA320X200
VIB-FLIC = "OFF"
The statements I've left out between these 4 don't matter since they are
Vibrant-specific, and this set-up is not using the Vibrant drivers.
I'm not aware that ANYONE has successfully (including bkgnd rendering and an
operable Matls Editor) run the Graphite under Windows.
