The network rendering capability of 3DS is incredible, but I'm have a problem that I am having difficulty fixing. Here it is: Using four machines on the network. Two "bad" machines see the control files and try to get in on the rendering process as normal, and they always skip to the last rendered frames in the process (almost normal). But: The two bad machines insist on re-rendering the most recently COMPLETED frames instead of NEW frames!! Two of the four machines do everything correctly, two don't. They're all set up exactly the same way. Using Lantastic 6.0. No error messages, etc… Any idea what's going on here? Thanks, Jeff

sounds like your clocks are out of snyc. Every day, sync the clocks to one machine using the command: net clock \\SERVER substitute you server's name for "SERVER". This ensures the timing is in sync for all machines and it's critical to correct operation of network rendering with multiple machines.

Martin: Ever thought of calling a batch file from VP to do this?

Don, >> Martin: Ever thought of calling a batch file from VP to do this? << no. Why, would that be a good idea?

As Martin said, it sounds like you've got a synch problem. – G
