#Shaken not stirred legal
5 messages in this thread
Here is the scoop!
There is a case that may require courtroom animation, but the rub is that the
principal attorney wants someone that is blooded. That's right, the attorney
wants someone who has been offered, tendered and qualified as an expert witness
in courtroom animation.
This is not a criminal case. The case is a suit that requires the description
of a mechanical process in the testimony. It is not a product liability suit,
so the players do not involve the actual manufacturer as a plaintiff.
The ideal animation candidate would be a mechanical engineer that has become an
animator who specializes in courtroom animation and………and has been
blooded as a qualified witness. There is a qualified expert witness in the
implication of the process so the animator will not be operating in a vacuum.
I am an animator and could well have done the descriptive visual animation, but
the attorney wants someone who has already be qualified in a court of law at
lease once.
I prefer that you E-mail your responses. I will pass on your responses and
make introductions.
You will not be able to retire on this animation, but the attorney realizes the
cost.

Bryce,
Sounds like you're giving new meaning to "Red Stick."
With all this talk about blood.

Well, well, well,
Not THE Kevin Gibson of the Southern Animation Society. I saw your
listing in Bill Allen's issue #16 of 3D Artist Magazine that I picked
up at SIGGRAPH in Orlando. There wasn't any phone number or I would
have probably given you a howdy. Well let me think about this, you
have a CI$ number and to get on CI$ you have to have a phone line.
Hhmmmmmmm?
So tell me about your association.
I've got your CI$ number and you've got mine, so keep in touch.

Hey Bryce,

< Well, well, well, >
< Not THE Kevin Gibson of the Southern Animation Society. >
That's SASSY for short, Mr. Red Stick. And stop it.
You're making me blush.
< I saw your listing in Bill Allen's issue #16 of 3D Artist Magazine >
And a fine publication it is. Bill and Sally do one heck of a job.
< that I picked up at SIGGRAPH in Orlando. >
Dang, I missed ya. Did ya drive or fly? We took a truck. Long drive.
< There wasn't any phone number or I would have probably given you a howdy. >
Well, gee, Bryce, seems we exchanged numbers once already. <G>
But you being all involved with the PBS station up there in the capital
and doing that high end stuff for the big corporate types, you musta
forgot little ol' me down here in the Crescent City.
I'm quite certain we traded business cards at a multimedia seminar put
on by Jeremy Hubbell and pals at the former Autodesk Multimedia Dealer
Pyramid / Connecting Point. You came down with a friend.
We stood outside chattin' afterwards, and ya told me all about the big muscle
machines you were playin' with. Made me real jealous.
And it seems to me, I've had the great privilege of viddying your most
awesome work at a local ITVA meeting.
Now, as for the Southern Animation Society.
I would like to extend an invitation to you and the other Red Stickians
to come join our tribe for a smoke of the ol' peace pipe.
I'll send you an invite with the particulars.
And, seriously, Bryce, I'd, that is, we'd be honored to have you do
a presentation to the group. I continue to hear good words about what
you guys are doing up the road. N'Awlins is a'popping too!
The reason there was no phone number is because I was shopping for
office space in the uptown area near Tulane and Loyola Universities.
I've been in transition. But I'll be in touch. And the next issue
of 3D Artist should have my number.
