How about a library here for forensic animators? Its looking like a boom industry and a centralized place to play would be nice.

Hi Tom, << How about a library here for forensic animators? >> Do you think that a dedicated Forensic Message Area and Library Upload Area is needed?

<< Do you think a fornsic section is needed? >> It sure would help to establish 3DS as THE solution for doing such work. It probably isn't needed yet, but I think you sould keep the idea on a back burner just in case the industry does explode which it likely will. I've got another suggestion regarding 3DS5. How about an option in the select by name menu (the infamous "h" key) that allows you to quickly selected the last used object. I've noticed that when working with a large scene of many objects, its a real pain to do multiple operations on the same object when it is obscured by others and must be selected from the name list. You could even have a pop-down menu of the last 3-5 objects used to really simplify things. What do ya think?

For a work around now, if you know an object is going to be manipulated often, either assign it to one of the selected buttons, (A,B,C), or give it a number at the beginning of its name so it appears at the top of the list. This only works in the 3D Editor, as the Keyframer's objects lists are apparently based on the order in which entities are created.

It might be simple to implement if the Name selector kept the tag for each selected entity from the previous selection. Terry Gilbert Forcade & Associates
