#Retina or Picasso II ?

I'm a little skeptical on this claim. So the Retina can completely emulate
the AGA chipset so you can run games like Pinball Fantasies and other such
games that usually bang the Amiga chipset like crazy?

No, it's not a complete emulation of the chipset. There's no such thing so far
as I know. But it manages to accomodate practically all software, and,
surprisingly, a few games. It can't, though, so far as I know, handle HAM
modes. But then, there's no emulation of those out there either.

Paul: Well then it sounds like the Retina is a much better setup than I
first thought. At the time I was looking to purchase a graphics card the
Retina did not have the video passthrough and didn't work very well with
the 3.1 OS. I remember a lot of flames on the Internet about the 3.1
incompatability. So I went with the Spectrum. Right now, I'm thinking
about one of those 64-bit boards like the Piccolo or CyberVision. I could
wait to see what Jim Drew will come up with on "The Edge" but knowing UU's
past performance on Jim's guess of a release date vs the actual release
date, I think I'll get one of the others while I'm still young enough to
enjoy it <g>.

Yah, the Edge sounds great, but who knows when it will actually be released.
I'd say that despite its problems, and it has its share in spades, the RetinaZ3
is the best Z3 card out there now. If the CyberVision proves to be good, I
might investigate it too, especially since I may wind up getting a CyberVision
040 for my 3k. But of the other options… the Spectrum I understand has
hardware bugs, and practically its own operating system, and what other Z3
cards are there?
