I know that this is not a typical 3DS question but I believe that there is someone who had the same problem than I have today. A customer brought me a BetacamSP tape and asked me to digitize one picture. Well, I did it with my ATVista and made one image of the two fields. Now the customer want the image in a resolution of 8000 lines!!!!!! 576 PAL lines to 8000 lines for a big poster is not a quit good idea. I know that I can resize it in photoshop and send it to a DTP studio to bring it on film but is there a better way? Resizing from such a low res. to such a high res. makes the image look like a old C64 game. Any idea to blow up the image in a very good quality? Any help is very appriciated… Thank you in advance.

<<I know that I can resize it in photoshop and send it to a DTP studio to bring it on film but is there a better way? You can resize with an algorithim to blend the enlarged pixels together, but it will still look real chunky. Where did the original BETA come from? Is there any chance of going back to the original source and re-rendering the image at a higher resolution? -Brian

>> Is there any chance of going back to the original source >> and re-rendering the image at a higher resolution? No, unfortunatly not! There is no chance to get the image in a better quality. And there is defenetly no way to re-model the image. MUCH TO COMPLEX! Michael

<< No, unfortunatly not! There is no chance to get the image in a better quality>> In that case, it looks like you are stuck having a pixelated image. Try enlarging i several packages, many handle enlarging with slightly different algorithims, and you might notice a difference between one program and the next. -Brian

Ok, I`ll try different packages to enlarge my image. I think photoshop has one of the best algorithm…

Michael: There really is no good way. Especially since you usually have to remove the field effect, thus cutting your effective resolution in half, anyway! Tell him to go take a photograph! Greg Pyros

RE: the field-grabbed blowup to 8000 lines…..forget about it ! Impossible. Sorry <g>.

I agree with the other two replies. Every once in a while some asks us to do much the same, though not up to 8000 lines. Are they really making a poster, or so they just think it will look "really great" if it's at 8000 lines? What is the original image? Taking a photo IS probably the best idea.
