#Tutorial Manuals/Videos
11 messages in this thread
I am a new user to 3ds r3 soon upgrading to r4. I am very fluent in AutoCad,
Designer but 3ds is very new to me. Does anyone have any second hand study
guides/videos/manuals that would help a new user get up to speed quicker than
thumbing through the Large Manual sent by Autodesk?
If you do, please respond directly to my Compuserve address. Thanks
Zack Lyon
I may be biased, but most would probably agree that the fastest way to
learn 3D Studio is by working your way through the tutorials. There
are now several excellent 3ds books on the market, but they all
augment the documentation that comes with 3ds. In other words, start
up where the tutorials leave off.

Probably biased, definitely right. Putting them under my pillow when
I go to sleep at night didn't work. <G>
Digimation produces excellent video training for 3D Studio. I think
that the fastest way to learn for a new user is to watch an
expeirienced one go through the program and show you the 'tricks of
the trade'. Call Digimation at (800) 854-4496 or (504) 758-3969.
David,

Hi David. I saw your plug in ad recently in one of my magazines.
With the growth of MultiMedia Developers and Plug – Ins, I'd like you
and all developers to review message #133697 please. Please seek
compliance. It will make the sysops life easier by not having to jank
violations.

Hmm. So you're saying we should all go back to relying on messages
posted by shill IDs with false names, or merely unpaid camp-followers
and cheerleaders for particular products? 🙂

Not at all. I – "asoft sysop hat on", think that the plug-in developers need a
place to support and market their routines under the "Go ADESK" umbrella of
forums, sponcered by Adesk, but seperate from this, support centered, "Asoft"
forum. This is just my take on it. I think that the plug-in partner community
can define your own marketing and support needs, as Plug-In Partners, as it
relates to this forum, to Max.

All kidding aside, Jonas, I did re-read the guidelines before I posted
that wise-crack. I've been good, right? No $$$, no
rope-and-hornswaggle sales made in public on the forum?
You've been "good", John.. 🙂

PMJI, but I'd sure hate to think that any news of IPAS plug ins,
videos, books or anything to help/enhance/aid 3DS won't make it in
this particular forum. I haven't read the message in question
(because I ain't such a developer nor do I intend to be one) but it's
hard enough to get information about third party stuff without having
to frequent another forum on a regular basis. I rely upon this
particular forum for ALL my 3DS needs.
Okay, so what other forums should I start downloading the threads from
(I know when I'm licked — sigh)?
Hi Mike,
<< I rely upon this particular forum for ALL my 3DS needs. >>
I think that many individuals who frequent this forum also feel the
same way. Autodesk management also realizes this and has to consider
it in their future forum policies and guidelines.
