#Modeler Objects
3 messages in this thread
I am trying to make the word "Cable" in LW Modeler, with faces and sides,
however, when I save the object and then load it into Layout I notice in
the Surfaces menu that I only have either 'Faces' or 'Sides'.
What is the best way to get 'em both and be able to give them different
colors, etc?
Thanks for your help.

Mark,
Use the Modeler Macro "Text" or "Logotron", these will both save your Word
object with individual surfaces for the face and sides.

Mark:
To give a single object multipule surfaces, while in Modler select the
faces you want to name, use the keyboard Equiv "q". This will bring up the
"Change Surface" requester. Type in the new name or select it from the pop
up menu. Click on "Apply". Repeat this for all the individual surfaces you
want your object to have. When you load the object in the modler all the
surfaces for all the objects will apper in the pop up on the surfaces
panel. If you still can not find your surfaces, check the scene panel it
will tell you how many surfaces are curently in your scene.
One side note: you can save the object to disk then use the Replace
object comand on the Object panel, or you can use the Import / Export
functions in Modeler, but you must RE-Import the changed object in to
Lightwave. Else it don't know changes have been made!
