BIND-AID

REALLY like your bones IPAS routines. Especially like the idea of
being able to IK the movements in R4 then apply it to the mesh (can
you do that in the DIGIMATION version?). I am having a problem with
Bind-Aid. Using the View Point COW mesh on the R3 CD, I tried to
atach all the point in the cow's head to the 'head bone', so that the
horn and face holes in the mesh don't drift, but when I try to Bind
Aid freezes the system. Too many verticies? Am I do'n it right
(select the verticies run 'Bind Aid' select the mesh). Is there a fix?
If you like I'll E-mail you the 3DS file to verify this problem.
Aside from this, bones is GREAT!!
I am having the exact same problem. I would send a check TODAY for this great
IPAS if I could get a fix. I am also interested in knowing the status of the
mentioned AXP capable version.

Hi,
You are the first to report this problem. (Obviously not the only one.)
Please do mail me the mesh. It sounds like you are doing it right. However,
due to the fact that morph targets do not move precisely as the bones did, you
will probably still have the synch problems. The way I have resolved them is
to bind the eyes, teeth, etc together into one object along with the body mesh.
With the AXP you should not have this problem since it will sync with the bones
on each individual frame.
In response to the query about the AXP. (I will include it here to save
space.) I intend to email preliminary copies to everyone whose checks I have
already recieved. These should go out before the end of the week. I will give
them a week for bugs to raise their ugly heads. Then start shipping disks.
I look foreward to seeing that mesh. When I find the problem I will email
you a new version of BEND-AID.
Sorry you had a problem.
Joe
Just E-mailed you the 3DS file that was causing the problems. Great
news about the APX. Cant wait. Check's in the mail.
