Can 3ds ver.4 run with OS/2 2.1. If so what are some of the ways i need to setup os/2 or 3ds so that 3ds will run at is optimal performance. Im considering switching over to os/2 instead of windoze. Also can 3ds run with WARP (OS/2)

I run 3DSr3 under 2.1 with no problems. Since r4 does not make any changes to its extended memory management, it should work just fine. However, I have yet to verify r4 under OS/2 myself. I will soon. Probably the only difficutly you will encounter is video compatibility with OS/2's desktop. When running an app full-screen, you can do whatever you want to the video in terms of rez and bit-depth, but if you try to push it to the background you might experience trouble (if the desktop rez is lower than the app rez). For my setup, I have two 3DS.SET files. One for modeling (3DS.SET): hi-rez, hi-color, but do not switch to desktop or push to background. Another for background rendering(3DS-VGA.SET): std. VGA, works great as a slave/background session. As for Warp, I don't know anyone who has tried running 3DS under it. I have talked with a few who plan to give-it-a-go in the near future, so "watch this space" to find out if it worked for them. — James — MAP —
