The older chips must me removed and replaced with the newer ones. If your older ROMS have a -1 and -0, replace them with the newer ones exactly the same way. If the older ROMS don't have a -1 or -0, then read carefully and don't get confused: The new ROMS will go in exactly the opposite sockets of what is labeled on the motherboard! Motherboard Socket ROM0 will be chip A3000-1 and Socket ROM1 will be chip A3000-0. If you put them in backwards, you really shouldn't have broken anything. It took me a few swaps to figure out what was going on. Give the machine a good 20 or 30 seconds to boot up before the Title ROM screen shows itself. Good Luck… Regards, Keith.

20 or 30 seconds? Why? Paul (aka Mr. Zombie)

Why 20 to 30 Seconds? Because that's just how long it takes for the Kickstart ROM screen to appear. I was used to 5 or 10 seconds on my older 2.04 ROMS, and started getting worried when the screen didn't pop up right away. If the ROMS are in backwards, the screen won't appear at all. Regards, Keith.

Thank you Keith, After opening up the A3000 I realized that there was only two sockets U180 and U181 and no jumpers Clement
