In compulsively playing around with R4 plug-ins (only moments out of the box)
and checking out the Randy egret before reading the tutorial, I inadvertantly
saved the file (ch6tuta1.3ds) in a most disreputable state. No big deal, just
grab another copy off the diskette, right? Easier said than done, especially
if I didn't want to RE-rename my 3ds r3 files, reload zillions of other files,
etc. [What I did was edit the install.dat file, but hey, I live in Calif.
right on the San Andreas fault]
What I'd like to see is a utility (ala Windows' EXPAND–I believe it's called)
that can read and recreate a single file from the 3ds distribution disks.
