Martin, >> Any thoughts on what would win a features/useability competition between Premiere 4 and Razor/Pro?<< I can't think of anything that Premier can do …. that Razor/Pro can't … but Razor Pro can do more than Premier … I guess that says it. Ang

>>I can't think of anything that Premier can do …. that Razor/Pro can't … Sounds pretty convincing. What about the new Animator Pro. Will this be competing on the same ground. Martin

Martin, >> What about the new Animator Pro. Will this be competing on the same ground.<< Not really. The new Animator Studio will be a 32-bit, multilevel paint and compositing system. Cell animation and paint animation will be its main features .. with composition a nice addition. I "cubby hole" Animator Studio .. like other Adesk products … as "content" developing tools .. for desktop video .. for MM .. etc. I concider Razor/Premier for compostion tools into which content from these other packages will be placed. Is that to say that you couldn't "brute force" Animator Studio into doing some of the same things and Razor/Premier can do … well no … but each package will excell at what they do (I hope <G>!). Ang

Angelo, >>Not really. The new Animator Studio will be a 32-bit, multilevel paint and compositing system. I think this is what I want. Razor/Premiere will composite and work on a timeline. Photoshop (and many other paint programs) will do fancy things with pictures. What I need is a Henry on PC. If Animator Studio starts to approach this angle then it will be a winner. Martin

Has anyone seen the the nifty transition windows that are in the advertisements. BTW- I haven't been able to get any of the Photoshop filters(which are supported) to work through the effects library either. -Jack

I've been following this thread now for a couple of weeks. I was just wondering if you've worked out the problem with Razor Pro/PAR regarding the corrupt frames that resulted after compositing in the program, and recompressing in .ani format. I'm planning to purchase the program in a few weeks, and was just curious about this "bug", and if it has been corrected- or if you've discovered where the problem was/is. You said that you suspect it occured because of the recompression after compositing- does Jamie Carr know about this problem?? It seems to me that one of Razor Pro's biggest "claims to fame" is its ability to work with the PAR's .ani format directly- does it work well or are there problems?? I haven't read anything else about this, so I just thought I'd ask. Thanks- Kathleen
