CDK Grant Program for edutcational institutions!!!! see below…
Sysop…Please check with Joe McCrae (spelled wrong? sorry) about
leaving this one message posted here. When we asked if it was OK to
repost a message multiple times so that it would be here for more
than a week, he told us that he would help us to keep at least one
message here so we would not have to repost it repeatedly.
Unfortunately, I've lost the reply so that I can't forward it to you
to see. Also, we're told a renewed CDK library section will be
coming? It was deleted to make more room at one time, we are told. Is
this still in the works?

The following information was released today, Tuesday, November 1,
1994 at 6:08 am PST. For your benefit, we have highlighted the key
messages of the release below:
-Autodesk is aggresively prospecting the educational market with its
Cyberspace Developer Kit Release 2
-Autodesk will donate up to $100,000 worth of CDK R2 software to
accredited universities, for the purposes of extended R&D and
cultivation of future VR markets
-Autodesk is a leader in advanced visualization technology; the
award-winning CDK class libraries are the vanguard of this technology

Autodesk Establishes Cyberspace University Grant Program Will Donate
More Than US$100,000 in Software for the Development of Virtual
Worlds with educators and their students more than justifies the cost
of this program."
Application Process The program will be administered jointly by
Autodesk's Multimedia Division and Autodesk's Education Marketing
Department, which will accept applications from representatives of
qualified institutions between now and February 15, 1995. Applicants
are required to provide a detailed description of how the software
grant will be utilized, state how students and university departments
will be involved, describe the applicability of CDK Release 2 to
curriculum development, expected project results and project
timeframe.
Upon grant approval, participants will be issued full development
copies of the CDK Release 2. They are required to provide Autodesk
with samples of curriculum materials and CDK-based environments, as
well as a written report of project results and an evaluation of the
