#Help with Software selec

Hello Everyone, I need some help with finding the appropriate software that would suit my needs. I am interested in putting together a short media presentation using the media player for windows. What I need to know is what software would be best to link a series of slides together and to perhaps edit some of these slides.{also scaned images} Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Point me in the right direction. Thanks Terry Scott 75131,2036

Terry, Dave's Targa Animator here is an inexpensive way to go from Targa files to a FLI animation format. I'm not sure, though, if there's a FLI>AVI converter.

Matt, I believe Dave Mason's VFD will convert FLI files to AVI files. -GreG

What price range are you working within? ..mark

Hi Terry, I can tell you that if you're looking to work ith slides and make a slide-only presentation, the ONLY program to work with is called Microsoft PowerPoint. However, if you're looking for more of a movie-type presentation, there's Premiere by Adobe Systems. This lets you bring all types of media, still shots, mini-movies in AVI format or FLI format. Premiere for Windows is probably your safest bet. Besides it allows you to control absolutely every aspect of your presentation: by this I mean, sound, how long an image stays on screen, etc. I hope this helps you out. Alex Karamanoglou.

As was mentioned, Adobe Premire, is a package that would work for you. Macromedia Director has a Windows version that would be an expensive option, but would definetly suit your needs. There are some shareware programs available that run slide show type presentations as a windows screensaver. You might look around in the librarys, you will probobly find something inexpensive that would suit your needs. But if you have the funds Premiere or Director are the most versatile programs I know of. Dave Huggins
