Dan,
They are greyed because no one has posted any messages there yet or that
are of a higher number than your High Message Number (forum software keeps that
so you don't re-see all those messages you read already). Under the Mail
pull-down (off line) or the Messages pull-down (on-line and in the forum) is
Create Forum Message In making up the header, just be sure to select the
right forum and the section where you wish to place a message. CIM will default
to the first section it knows about (New Uploads here) if you aren't careful.
They'll Un-Grey When Messages Are Showing

This forum is brand new, and nobody's posted messages there yet. Drop
a few in there and you'll see the message areas ungreyed as replies
get posted!
