i am new. so i know where to go to find the right thing for me, why would this go to the other area–i.e. graphic forum? the graphic area seemed to be not involved with animation?

Andy, the vendor areas are set up for the specific product vendors to provide technical support for their customers whereas the Graphics Developer's forum (GO GRAPHDEV) is specifically designed for people searching for new information and ways to do things. There is section 13 "Animation Sources", 14 "Animations", 15 "Raytrace Animation", 16 "Morphing", and 17 "Motion Video" which would be a far better connection point for your needs. Vince

how do i get to the various sections. i am new as of this weekend and cserve is not as intuitive as i expected. all the sections you point oiut seem like something i would like to see more about, but i do not know where to go to get there. and i hope it is not the old "you can't get there from here" routine.

Andy, Welcome to the world of graphics on CIS! You get to a specific area with the GO command. For instance, to get to the Graphics Developer's section you use GO GRAPHDEV. I suggest you spend a few minutes and peruse the Introduction to Graphics (GO INTROGRAPH). It's chock full of info that will be interesting and helpful to a newcomer such as yourself. It's an interactive session, so you should activate your disk capture so that you can review the session later when you're offline. Hope this answers your question and helps. If you need more, let us know! John Parker
