#Dxf import, & save prob
5 messages in this thread
Posting a question for a friend over in tech. pubs. He is having two problems
in using Animation Master. The first is the fact that he can't import a 2d DXF
shape created in Coreldraw. Does A:M allows 2d DXF imports? Second, when
rendering a 640*480 3-5 second flic, A:M gets about halfway through and quits.
Memory and HD space shouldn't be an issue, because the machine in question has
64mg and about 125meg free disk space. The specific errors generated by each
are 'trouble importing dxf segment' and 'cannot save to file'. Version of
program is 2.04, machine in question is a Gateway 486-66 vlb w/2mg Viper card(I
think; forgot to check when I was over there). He is running PC Tools for
Windows. Any ideas appreciated, and thanks in advance.

John,
It sound as your friend is ready for an update… I just got the version 2.07
update and was trilled to be able to bring in Corel gernerated DXF. It is a
snap! Boom, and it's there! Now you can do some of the preliminary modeling in
Corel!
I think the render quits have been fixes some time ago…

Thanks for the info.

A word of advice: If you want to control where your spiline point will be
located, create them manually (add points) on your courves in Corel, than
convert it all to straigth lines before exporting to DXF… This way you only
get the points you want…

Don't think that that matters to him; just the ability to create stuff in Corel
(logo & such (right now he does mostly 2d illustration)) and accurately bring
it into A:M. I'll pass the info on though, and thanks again.
