Anybody else have a problem rendering the objects that come in "3D Modeling Lab" from Waite Group ? When I do a quick render of the bee only a couple of legs show up, most are missing and no wings. When I render the space project to a flc , the spaceship wings disappear and many objects seem to be lost in the background- polygons disappearing etc. See my uploaded pcx picture spacey.pcx for a snapshot of the animation, only about 6000 bytes long ( the actual animation at 640×480 is 57 megabytes long and took about 15-20 hrs to render NOT RAYTRACE ) in forum section 3 . I am running Imagine 2.0 from a naked boot disk in drive a: with no memory manager loading on a dell pentium 90 with 8 megs RAM and a #9GXE64PRO card so I don't think i could be running out of memory. My config.sys is the following: DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS BUFFERS=10,0 FILES=20 DOS=UMB LASTDRIVE=K FCBS=16,0 DEVICEHIGH =C:\DOS\SETVER.EXE devicehigh =c:\mouse\mouse.sys (my dell mouse driver) STACKS=9,256 Autoexec.bat is: echo off c: cd\imag imagine cd\ a: So simple ! What could be wrong? Please help.

>> 8 megs ram… I don't think I could be running out of memory Um, I hate to tell you, but you're running out of memory. Objects, or parts of objects disappearing are the classic "you're running out of memory" symptom. I was having problems myself with my P90 and 16M of memory, running low on complex scenes. 8M is really tight for Imagine on a PC, try upping your memory to 16M or more (I have 32M and things work great). I know it's expensive, but at least it's an answer. Jim Shields Regal Rodent Development

George, What you are experiencing is indicative of being low on memory. If you are rendering in Scanline mode, switch it to TRACE. TRACE uses MUCH less memory that Scanline. However, you would be better off with at least 16megs. -GreG
