Renderize User Unite!!!
Finished Visual Reality images are not the only useful information. If users
would upload materials (in the form of *.eye files & image files) then we could
pool our resources. Also helpful would be lighting scenarious or interesting
animation paths. I've begun by uploading a couple of patterns that can be used
for matte drop-outs as fences or screens or spaceship fuselages, etc. Next time
I'll but them in *.EYE (I didn't think about that until I uploaded them).
I also uploaded a simple *.AVI file to demostrate titles and a *.TIF file from
a little museum test project I was doing.
Well Hi Joel:
Your absolutely right about pooling resources! It also allows us to see what
images, materials etc. are most useful so that we include the most appropriate
stuff in our upcoming Materials and Objects CD library.
I can't wait to see your refereneced TIF and AVI files. Keep your eyes on the
Library section, as I'll be uploading a bunch of images and some animations (if
I can find some that aren't too big!) in the coming week.
Hi Joel and Nick,
My copy of Visual Reality should be arriving today! My understanding is it
includes Visual Model, Visual Image, Visual Font, Renderize Live, 3D clip Art
and a run-time player for the animations. I was told there will not be a
texture CD shipping as a new one with many more textures will be sent on 9/9.
I have been with Corel Draw since V2, have used Design-Cad 2D and 3D but from
what I have seen in the literature and reviews, VR will be perfect for me.
I am an Industrial Designer and work for a contract design firm so each project
is unique. I will be putting it on a 486/66 8meg with a Diamond Viper and a
couple of hundred meg free. I hope this will be adequate (?).
I would really like to share tips, tricks and files with the forum members, I
might take a while to learn VR's capabilities but hopefully I can help in the
future.

Hello Jim:
I'm sure you'll be up to speed quite quickly and contributing tips to this
section. As you learn the software, please feel free to ask any questions
here such that I can help you get up to speed with the shortest possible curve.
Also, your questions will be illuminating and of interest to section
participants, since you bring a fresh perspective on the software.

Hi Nick,
>> be up to speed quite quickly
Yes, the manual is excellent! The tutorials went well until the first
animation. It is GPF'ing :((( Here's the scenario…
On tutorial 12, page 192. I have everything ready to generate the animation
and I press the button to generate the animation. Then I name it "table" with
the extension of .AVI. Then the pixel depth box comes up…
If I press "8 bit", I get "File Error, cannot find IC.DLL" then it GPF's with
"GPF EYES.EXE at 0001:B8F2".
What and where is IC.DLL? I can't find it in any of the directories the program
created or in my Windows or System directory.
So I reload it and do another animation, this time when I press the button to
generate the animation, then name it and then it comes up with the pixel
depth..
I press "Options" and I get "Application Error, call to undefined Dynalink".
What is going on? Am I missing IC.DLL? How do I get it if it is missing.
Help!
Jim
Jim:
Yes the problem has to do with you missing the IC.DLL file. Where did you
obtain your version of the software, and when? Please contact me at voice
(310) 798-8569 at your earliest convenience so we can sort this out.

Jim:
I'm VR veteran, started with the first version of Renderize for Windows. It is
a great software package with great potential but, as with most high-end
software, its future greatness relies heavily on users so anything you can
share will be helpful to both other users AND the software designers!
Hi Joel,
>> relies heavily on users so anything you can share
That sounds great. I have made it through the tutorials and am very impressed.
There are a few problems but it appears to do with my version #.
Since I'm new here, has there been any Wish Lists circulated? I have a few
items but don't want to repeat what has already been discussed.
Jim
Jim:
I haven't seen one. Why not start one! I've mentioned a couple of things but
lets make it formal with a seperate message entitled WishList!!!

Absolutely for the wish list!
And now would be a good time to contribute your ideas, as our version 4
development is still "open". Feel free to submit your wishes here or by fax to
our offices.
