I am looking for the original Amiga2000 and A2091 manuals. I just bought a
used Amiga2000 with A2091 in it but it came with no manuals. I did manage to
get my harddrive from my A500 working with the A2091 and I got the 2.04 ROM
installed but I could not seem to get the memory from the Impact500 (2MB) to
work in the A2091. The 2.04 ROM's exp board diagnostic would come up saying
that the ram board of the A2091 was bad. I have tested the chips back in the
A500 and they test good, I also have another set of chips (2MB) I am also
courious about some of the jumpers I see on the A2000's motherboard. Basically
I would really like the manuals for both, but I wouldn't mind any spec sheets
also 😉

I have just received a 2091 controller and below is the info on the ram
portion of it excerpted from the manual. (No, I want to keep the manual)

Inserting the RAM chips.
Note: Be careful to properly align the chips before inserting them. Do not
force them or bend the pins.
Each chip has a notch or dot on one end to show the location of pin 1. When the
end with the notch or dot is held to the left, pin 1 will e in the lower left
corner. The chip should then be inserted so that the notched end is towards the
left of the board. (In vertical position sockets are at the bottom with Jumper
1 on the left side above them.)

If you are installing 512K, insert the four sockets labeled 512K. 1MB (8 chips)
insert them in the eight sockets labeled 512K & 1 MEG. If you are installing 2
megabytes of memory (16 chips), insert them in all 16 sockets.
If your system fails to boot once the RAM chips are installed, there is most
likely a problem in the first 512K of memory. Make sure that all the RAM chips
are installed in the right directioin and that all the pins are straight. Check
to see if any pins are curled under or not fully inserted. If you find a bent
pin, remove the chip, carefully straighten the pin, and then reiinsert the
chip.
Setting the jumper.
You must set a jumper on the board to match the amount of RAM installed. As
shipped, the jumper is set to 0K, or no RAM installed. Lift the jumper straight
off and replace it on the set of pins labeled the same as the amount of RAM
installed.
JP 2 autoboot enable/disable
JP 3 Factory use
using kickstart 1.3 or higher set jumper 2 to the autoboot position.
jumper 5 option 1 LUN Enable.
Only affects SCSI drives. If you have more than one device at a physical
address, set this jumper to on. When this jumper is enabled, the system looks
for eight logical Unit Numbers (LUN), or eight devices, at each physical SCSI
address and will attempt to open Logical Units 0 through 7 at each physical
SCSI address. When this jumper is disabled, the system will look for one
device. Factory set to OFF. (Huh? How's that work! Hmmm)
JP5 Option 2 Time-out length.
If you are using a SCSI drive that takes longer than 30 seconds to start up
when you turn the system on, such as some Seagate drives, you may wish to set
this jumper to the ON position. When in the off position, the time-out period
is short. When ON the system will wait a longer time before checking the drive.
When this jumper is enabled, it disables parity checking during the message in
phase. Certain hard disks, such as Seagate disks, do not generate parity during
the message in phase. With these hard disks, set this jumper to ON. Factory set
to OFF.
JP5 Option 4: Reserved
Ok Daniel, that is about it for the RAM portion of the manual. Any questions,
I'll try to answer, but I just got this thing in the mail and haven't ever
fooled with an A2091 SCSI card before.

Daniel, are you using the correct ram chips? Are they 256K x 4?

Thankyou for the info. I believe that the chips I have are 1MBx1, they are
from a Impact500 memory board and are 18pin chips (4P1024-12). I have 32 chips
which would be 4MB. Is there any way to use 1MBx1's in a A2091?

I reprinted the exact information provided in the Amiga 2000HD owner's manual.
I have no idea if you can use 1MB x 1 chips.
If your asking me I'd have to say NO, you have to use 256K x 4.
