John, I'd love to chime in on the CC bashing. It took me 4 months and cost me better than a hundred bucks, not to get a CD player from them. It's said complaining can be theraputic. I'm done. -Jim-

PMFJI – Jim – By CC I believe you mean Creative Computing. CC is a mail order house in California. The CEI we have been discussing is Creative Equipment International. From what I've seen in the messages, most Amigans have had some problem with CC. CEI was the major distributor for CBM to US dealers and had been configuring specific systems with Emplant's, accelerators and bigger drives to support the market. It is CEI, not CC, that is bidding for the Amiga technology. By the way, CEI started selling CBM products over 17 years ago. Hank/Videology – Where you get all the P.O.M.P. under all Circumstances

I *am* referring to CEI. …and just where did you get the information about CEI selling CBM products for the last 17 years? I have been involved with Commodore before their first PET2001 came out (which I beta tested), and I worked for Commodore in 1983-84 as the technical support representative to the Oregon Educational Dept… I had not heard of CEI until about 4 years ago.

I believe CEI was a dealer before they were a distributor. From out in Oregon (or whereever), what reason would you have had to hear of a dealer in Miami?

I had access to all distributors through my job at Commodore… that is how I would know who the distributors were then.

Could you re-read my earlier message? The part about them being dealers before distributors, perhaps during the time at which you knew all the distributors?

I beginning to sound like the proverbial broken record. Most of my comments are repeats of the information in the AC interview with CEI president Alex Amor. They were a dealer in those days. Hank/Videology – Where you get all the P.O.M.P. under all Circumstances

A dealer is a far cry from a distributor, and certainly nowhere near status of attempting to control the destination of the Amiga…

CEI was a dealer several years ago – they had been given the responsibility to distribute Commodore computers by Commodore back then and have maintained the distrbutor status ever since. Please do me a favor Jim and review the AC interview – and let me know your comments then – I'm not saying it's even currently correct, but atleast we will start off with the same understanding. BTW – have you extended your support hours yet? I believe they were on Monday and Friday only the last I heard.

I did read the AC interview. Tech support hours will go back to normal after the first of the year,
