Talk about inept. Now Intel is using "multimedia" to sell its CPU chips,
while Commodore couldn't use multimedia to sell the premier multimedia
computer. Sheesh!
Just to ice the cake, IBM is selling OS/2 Warp on the strength of its
multitasking (which, of course, IBM invented). But what does anybody need
multitasking for? I can only do one thing at a time anyway <g>.
Repeat: Fifty years from now, Commodore will be a textbook example of how
NOT to run a technology-based company.
Maybe their former management can find suitable work flipping burgers…
Nah; scratch that. I can't think of any fast food joint I dislike that
much.

For multimedia, a high-performance OS, like AmigaDOS and Amiga hardware
architecture is ideal. A typical case would have the platform playing an
animation, preloading an image or another animation, playing 16-bit audio,
controlling peripherals (i.e. genlock, laserdisc, VCR, etc.) and syncing to
another time code source. Our software and our users do it all the time.
Try this, format 2 floppy disks, login with a term program and print a document
from your wordprocessor. Right now, the PCs and Macs cannot do this. You're
Amiga can and has had the capability for years. The Amiga obsolete? Not
quiet. ;-}

Obviously my sarcasm escaped you. That line was intended to mock the PC
and Atari users of the mid-80's who repeated that line like a montra.
I have had an Amiga for seven years, and I'm a senior analyst in my
company's computer department. In reality, I know what multitasking is
for. That's why, in my office, I have an Amiga and four PC's.
