That is, with a Hardware Abstraction Layer (Micros**t's term) between the new hardware and the traditional Amiga API. That is what Apple is doing; that is what IBM is doing; both with their respective implementations of "the" Power PC. Existing software would continue to work because the customary API is still there. It would look like this: Amiga OS w/ RTG —————– Hardware Abstraction Layer —————– New RISC Hardware It would be worth a try.
