Since you appear to have things running <g>, a couple of questions: 1) what video card are you using? 2) rendering the same file, what is the render time for the foreground and background session? My background session is running extremely slowly right now. 3) are you able to branch to DOS using f10 from the foreground session while running a background session, and then get back into 3ds w/o a swap file error? 4) why doesn't IBM's 8514 video driver support background execution (retorical [sp?] question)? Since getting a new machine, I am doing network rendering on another machine (but still run both machines under OS/2. > why doesn't IBM's 8514 video driver support background execution It doesn't? Emulating the video registers is too slow, so only cards with 2 video chipsets (like the 8514) perform well. — Doug Azzarito
