In early November I uploaded a patch librarian program to the music section data library called PATLIB.ARC. I can no longer locate it. Wha hoppen? -Thanks, Rod

Rod, Lots of changes have happened since then; for example, the sound library has moved. There are now two sound libraries, a data library (DL5), and a program library (DL15). Your program exists as PATCHL.ARC in DL15, uploaded on 02-NOV-86. As to the name change (if you are _sure_ you called it "PATLIB"), I cannot comment… Don is in primary charge of the DLs; perhaps he thought PATCHL was more descriptive. At any rate, rest easy, it is there! Nybbles, Rick

Thanks Rick, I really just wanted to know where to reference folk who'll need it for the patches I just uploaded. –and apparrently I need to "discover" the new dls. I'm innocent of any beyond dl9. -Rod

Rod, Oh boy, then you have surprises waiting for you! 8) At the Function: prompt, type LN for a list of all the data libraries — LN is another new Sigware feature — and you'll see that we've added quite a bit. And if you haven't already done so, do make sure you have all the message base subtopics you are intersted in enabled as well. I've been on CIS through many an update, but between the free upload time and the last two Sigware changes, I have to believe that CIS is really trying to be a better place for everyone. Hope you like the changes. Nybbles, Rick

Actually, there is a bug in the current software. LN will not show any DLs higher than the highest sub-topic. Which means that if you do an LN you will not see DLs 15 and 16. For now, the best method to see all of them is to go into a DL and type DL?

Steve, Then the programmers have fixed it since you last tried it. I tried it in the process of answering the question, to locate the proper DL… and again, just now, before typing this reply. The _only_ DL not listed by LN is DL14; 15 and 16 _are_ listed. Busy little beavers, them CIS programmers. 8) Nybbles!

Sorry Rick — WRONG! As a sysop you have access to ALL sections — even those that are closed to the public (to be used for future expansion). Because you have access to non-existant msg sections 15-16 you see the DLs 15 and 16. The highest public message section is 11 (with 12 being the Programmer's Network). Tell ya want — I'll go set things up so you'll see what everyone else does — you'll see the bug.

Steve, Hope this comes thru okay, I'm having modem problems at home… xmit seems okay but rcv is awful… it's RF bleed from a nearby FM station today. <Sigh> I guess I still don't have the hang of this sysop stuff (no surprise to me, really). Okay, I stand corrected and yield to your superior knowledge. <Looking at score card> Lessee, you got me on LN, I got you on leap years, you got me on, um, looks like we're about 4 and 4 right now. <Grin> Nybbles, Rick
