Can you–or anyone else–tell me what I should have done to properly format message 43871 ('Twas the Night before Christmas). I entered it directly using carriage returns after every line and . on what should have been blank lines. I had tried to use a buffer send but even when waiting for the CIS prompt seems did not go right. If you figure it out I will upload it again in a more readable format.

Bill, It's format looks ok to me, but you might switch to EDIT rather than SED for your editor. You don't get the prompts, but it does allow the blank lines. The period has to be on the start of the line like this: –there is a period here, but you can't see it. –there is also one here, and 1 by itself as the first character of the line above. Don

You can always store it with SU (save unformated). You can also get blank lines using SED but having a period as the first and only character on the line.

OK I will try edit. The format should be 4 lines and then a blank line. I thoought I had put the period in the first space.
