#ELQ2500 Driver Problems

I see John Sobernheim has already left you an answer to your message.
the EPLQ2500.dat file isn't necessary, as he states, it's there to use with the
PrtDrvGen program of Jorgen Thomsen if you wish. I noticed you have ELPQ2500
typed in your message instead of EPLQ2500 – you might check the spelling of
both the driver and your custom field to make sure they coincide. Also, you
should select "LETTER" quality when printing in color, it makes the print
quality *much* better than the graphics printing of "DRAFT" quality. I know,
graphics isn't supposed to be affected by this, but it is. I would definitely
make sure that you're using workbench 1.2, as John suggested. Also, I have
been unable to get the driver to print graphics if I select "vertical" on the
graphics mode in preferences with this driver. But it doesn't print at all if
that's the problem, for me at least. I don't know why it should not be
printing in color – you do have a four-color ribbon installed, yes?
Let us know how these things work – glad you like the printer. I think it's a
good one too!

Anne I have an Amiga 2000 DK with 3 meg and all of the extras. I could not use 1.1 even if I wanted too!!! I have checked
everything but will check again. When I try to print from Dpaint II or Deluxe print it will ether Guru or simply return me to
the program.

: ^)…. You guessed correctly about the spelling! I reversed the spelling exactly the same way when I typed it into the
workbench. All is well now. You are right about the light color in
the printout. It is MUCH darker when you use the jx80 driver, but everything is elongated! I tried pressing the NLQ button on
the front of the printer and it made no difference in the density. I will try selecting LETTER quality from preferences and
see if that is what you were refering to.

Glad there was a simple explanation for your problem. I had forgotten
that you had a 2000. Yes, what I meant to say was to select "LETTER" quality
in Preferences if you want the really saturated graphics printing, it's much
slower but much nicer than the "draft" quality. YOu might also want to set the
threshold to "1", but I haven't noticed that it makes a whole lot of
difference.
