As I said, I am sure you keep a clip file of your articles. (I don't keep a
clip file of your articles, I only go to OLT when I hear you've posted another
zinger.) So please post a few of your stories, as I asked in the last message,
and we can go from there. For instance, let's look at the "Operating System
Recalled" story. Other people have questioned your 68030 Amiga story. As a
journalist, I am sure you realize that some journalists do not do their
homework. On several occasions, I think your stories have led to very similar
stories on national computer shows. Do you think this is true?
Also, as a journalist, I think you shouldn't walk away from self-examination,
and questions about the validity of your story topics. For instance, the
conventional media has had quite a few discussions of the ethics of the
coverage of the Gary Hart incident. Here, I think there are many people who
question stories that promote rumor as fact. Rumors are one thing, and should
be clearly labeled as such, and belong on the back page, next to the comics.
Has anyone here in the Forum ever seen a message about Timothy Leary and his
software? Please speak up.
I wonder if we've now "created" a news item for the OLT… After all, Moran was
looking for discussion about this, and we've certainly given him some. With
his previous articles, I wrote him at least one personal Easyplex, begging him
to check his facts, and I got only a curt reply. Hopefully he'll think twice
about his future Commodore articles. At least he could come to the Amiga Forum
before he submits them, to let us check and comment on his "facts."
