I don't doubt that AmigaTeX is the best TeX available anywhere; it's been
highly customized for speed, whereas many other versions are just pro-forma
ports of the original Pascal code. AmigaTeX also comes with a very fast
previewer that makes TeX almost a WYSIWYG system.
It took me about 3 weeks to get up to speed on TeX, back when I was doing
the ARexx documentation. It does require an effort to learn (like most
things worth doing :-)) but can then be used very easily.
