The symptoms that you are reporting concerning ARead and AWrite sound
like a problem that I encountered (and resolved). When I issued the
'binddrivers' command in my startup sequence, the 'pc' and 'sidecar'
directories did not exist on the _current_ Sys: disk. They were present
when I later ran any of the Amiga-side Janus programs (after I re-assigned
stuff over to my hard disk), but they also had to exist on the boot disk
(df0: boot floppy) when I did the binddrivers. When I copied them there,
ARead and AWrite started working again.
Note that I NEVER got any error messages or anything, either when I
booted the Amiga nor when I accessed any of the Bridge programs. Only
symptom was that ARead/AWrite would lock up the PC side, to the point that
I couldn't even CTL-ALT-DEL reset the PC side. Had to reset the entire
Amiga to free up the PC.
