if you don't mind my frank response, it looks to me like they are out to
"steal/appropriate/etc…" your idea. If, as they state, they had been
working on it for the last two years, it would have been announced at least
a year ago. As evidence, I present The Video Toaster. Given such, NewTek
hereby receives my turkey of the year award, and I shall refrain from
recommending their products or even talking to them. Such dealings I can do
without. What's up with these people? Just doesn't make sense in the
least.
Brian, I do not believe that it is _clear_, as you put it. NewTek may well
have their own ways of doing things. For instance, I had designed,
implemented, and sold a device that uses these techniques which was used on
the Radio Shack TRS-80c a number of years ago called the "CoCoGrey".
This took the flying video, as the HAM-E does, and reformatted qit such
that a completely new resolution/mode was available on the TRS-80c. This
idea, as you see, has been in our stables for quite some time, more than 4
years in fact. Yet, we didn't mention it, other than in some blue-sky
messages here in CIS sevaral years ago. The only conclusion you can
properly draw from this is that NewTek's support will not be forthcoming
for the HAM-E board.
It will when they get caght with thier product pants down just watch.

ok, I may be overreacting, but it does strike me as strange that you
announce your product and all of a sudden they have one on the burners too,
when they've announced products well "before their time" before.
(Hmm…that's a tortured sentence :-). Very strange.
If Black Belt start to design Toaster by now, i bet will be available
before the Newtek one. :>
