Has anyone had any experience using the Epson LQ850 printer with the Amiga 2000-2500? I have been having the following problem; the printer prints perfectly with my A1000, the A2500 outputs perfectly to my Roland Plotter in Epson printer emulation mode, the printer prints incorrect characters when used with my A2500 and cable or with another A2000 and different cable. Specifically the printer substitutes some characters with incorrect characters. I would really appreciate any help offered. Thanks

Peter, Several things could cause that. Is there any specific pattern to what gets trashed? For example, does every 'E' get changed to something else or do some print ok, and some not? Does it print the first half of a page ok, but not the 2nd half? Anything like that going on? Don

Don, Exactly right. "run" becomes "ben" etc.. Also very often the printer will start off by printing random letters one per line. I, searching for a reason especially since I have heard of no problems from other LQ850 owners. I have been using the printer with my A1000 with some success. Thanks for your help. Peter Sawko

My 850 work very well with my 2000. You do realize that the Amiga 2000 and Amiga 1000 printer cables are different? Regards, Paul
