We have someone on one of our local boards who is looking at getting a
parallel to serial converter to attach to the Amiga's parallel port as a cheap
way of attaching a second modem to an Amiga 500. It doesn't seem that easy a
problem. The hardware shouldn't be too complex, but I don't see the software
interface as being that simple. I don't suppose that any of the current
serial.devices would work? Naah, I thought not 😉
Still, does anybody out there have any ideas on the subject?
Jeff,
You might want to check out the 'parnet' stuff. It works with DNet, I think,
and does the same thing over the parallel port as over the serial port. With
this, it _might_ be an easy hack. No guarantees though, because I really
haven't looked at it.

Jeff,
I seem to remember a thingie called the "Black Box" which did something
like that (among other things). We used them with our mainframe at the Pearl
Harbor ILO facility. The name of the company escapes me completely though.
