If you used PgS's HPLaserJet driver to print on the laser printer then it was
NOT a postscript printer. You would get improved output from Pixelscript on
that printer. Pixelations Inc. is on CIS (73407,76).
You should get very good result from your Nec 2200 (240 dpi), but not as good
as a 300dpi laser or HP Deskjet. In some Dot matrix printers (actually both the
laser printer and the DJ use dots also) the highest "resolution" is gained by
overlapping the dots, so you don't a true 240 dots in a inch. I don't know if
that is true of the Nec. In any case I have never heard anyone claim to have
seen the output of a mechanical dot matrix printer that was superior to a laser
or DJ. -Paul-
Paul, John: Here I am jumping in at last! PixelScript will give quite nice
results on a 24-pin printer, but not as nice as on a 300-dpi DeskJet or
LaserJet. Paul's explanation was excellent BTW! John – email me your US
mail address and I can send you our literature (it includes a 24-pin
printer sample). Justin Fisher/Pixelations
