I've got a small problem… I'm using Imagine v1.0. And I can't get any object to be transparent at all. I have attributes filter set all the way up, reflect at zero. Etc. And color set as black. The index of refraction is set at 1.82. My scene has 3 lights: 2 above and to each side, and a white source in the middle of a pyramide of spheres defined above. The spheres after rendering, have a smooth opaque color to them. But you cannot see the white source in it, only through the cracks. I was rendering in full trace mode. Is this a problem in Imagine? Or is there something I'm not doing? If so, how would I make a glass sphere in Imagine? Also…. For rendering…. What are the Aspect values for Digital Creation's DCTV? Or how can I find out? The res is 768 by 484. Thanks, Andrew Hobbs

I believe my problem was having Reflect set to a value other than zero. It works great now, and pretty! Andrew

Hmmm…. These are the settings I'm using on a brandy snifter; Color 255,255,255 Reflect 0,0,0 Filter 230,230,230 Specular 255,255,255 Dither 255 Hardness 255 Roughness 0 Shiny 0 Index 1.75 Phong I know these work, in fact I turned down the filter to 230 so you could see the thing at all. Thanks! It seems my problem was the Reflect and Shiny values. I put them to zero, and now they work. Thanks! Later, Andrew
