#BAD MAIL ORDER COMPANY
4 messages in this thread
Further to my messages regarding MicroComputer services of Southfield,
Michigan. AmigaWorld has informed me today that MicroComputer Services is
about to be forced into bankruptcy. I guess thats the end of my money. Can
anybody tell me the address of the Attorney Generals Office in Michigan.
Also the telephone number.
Thank you
Peter,
Weren't you the one that charged the purchase on Visa? If so, have you
worked your way up to the president of your bank yet? You should have been
able to get a chargeback authorized by now…
Pete
Yes I did pay by Visa. Visa recently sent me a letter saying that the
chargeback had been denied because M.C.S. clai~54W<jZ2)
RKQEH[-3<rE+kk:"KM8T8 t.vQ.16v'|9$f'sQgy{e+
claimed that they wanted more time to investigate. I have since requested
my bank to request another chargeback but if M.C.S. is about to go into
receivership then I can't see much happenning.
Peter,
It depends how aggressive you want to be. I can assure you that if this
happened to me it would have been pushed up to the level of someone who
would have said to his underlings, "I don't care what you have to do, make
this person happy so they stop calling me."
If MCS said they want more time to investigate, that means the chargeback
was not denied on the basis that the payment was made more than sixty days
ago, which I recall was your original concern. That's a good sign. But if
MCS said they want more time to investigate, you should have immediately
started a phone and letter campaign (mostly phone) pushing the contention
that MCS had gone past the legal limit between the time they accepted the
order and the time they shipped; since they are in violation of the law,
they are not ENTITLED to more time to "investigate" further.
You should pick up the phone and start on this immediately if you want any
chance of winning this.
Pete
