After using my CMI video encoder for quite some time to transfer images from my A2000 to videotape, I am becoming disappointed with its output. I really get MUCH better images on the videotape when: (1) I record images with my camera, (2) I record images from my RF input from the regular TV antenna, and (3) when I make second generation copies of images produced by method (1) or (2). I am not disappointed just because the images look better on the A1080 than on the VCR tape. Is there any simple layman's method to determine if the quality of the videotaped computer images is up to the quality level that it should have ? How can I do this ? Second question. I really don't need a genlock for what I do. A few title screens or AmigaVision scripts seem quite nice in home movies, even without "overlay". But I would like the highest quality of output (genlock or encoder) that I can get in my price range (hopefully under $500). Is there any particular device that will put images on S-VHS VCR with the best quality in that price range ? How about the S-VHS part, does that change the issues presented ? Thanks.
