Help (again!)

I have a few questions and you'll have to bear with me… I write in GFA
Basic and alot of this stuff is much harder for me to implement than the
average C user who fires up his/her includes and off they go.
First, I need to be able to find out where my programs are started from.
From what I can tell, the key lies in the WBStartup structure. However, I
have no idea where that is when within my program. How can I find out where
my program's WBStartup structure is? Can it be traced with FindTask()? (And
I know about ProgDir: in 2.0, but I'm not currently programming under 2.0).
Second, I'm experimenting with the Execute() command. I know that the
input/output modifiers in the Execute command refer to where information to
and from the Shell should pass along, but how should these be set? If I
print out Input() and Output() while in a program, I get 0's. This means
that there are no current Input/Output filehandles that my program knows
about. Do I HAVE to specify a CON: file handle, or even an actual file, to
have this work? All I want to do is run a program from within my program,
but at the very least the phrase "[CLI 2]" seems to get returned when I do,
and if I don't have an output file handle specified, it craps out my
system.
The last thing is messages. I want to be able to send messages to and from
2 seperate tasks. I assume I set up some sort of Message structure then
have one of the programs wait to recieve something. If a full description
of which library commands to use could be supplied, I would be most
grateful (remember, I don't use includes, which means I'll have to create
these structures from scratch, and I'm programming under 1.3).
Thanks in advance,
Gary
