#AFM search Help please!

Hi everybody Does anybody know where to get .AFM files for Postscript fonts, I have downloaded a number of Fonts from here and there, but only have the .PFB and .PFM files. So I can use them with Adobe type manager on my PeeCee but to use them with PageStream I need the .AFM files. Apparently they used to be available from the Adobe forum but I cant find them there. They apparently were removed. ?? I need quite a few. Many of the fonts were converted from MAC to PeeCee but it seems .AFM's werent included. HELP !! So much Great Amiga Software, so little Time !! John, I believe that all of Adobe's AFM files are up on CIS in the DTPForum. JR

I am looking for AFM's for about 70 fonts, I still havent had a chance to see if they are ADOBE fonts or not, the DOCS I got with the fonts, said they were converted from postscript fonts on a MAC with Fontographer and there should have been AFM's in the Archive but since they aren't required in the IBM world somebody must have stripped them from the Archive as they arent there now. I got the archives from my companys corporate network so may have to follow up to who ever uploaded them there. So much Great Amiga Software, so little Time !! If you have access to a peecee at work, there is a shareware program called, um, refont. The author claims that the registered version (I can't confirm this) can generate AFM files from PFBs and PFAs. Craig

If they're Adobe fonts, you could look in the Adobe or DTPforums. I know there are hundreds of AFMs over there. On the other hand, if you have a PostScript printer, there is a little PostScript program around which, if you operate the printer down a serial connection via a term program, will generate an AFM for you (but without kerning info). I'm also told that there are PFM->AFM converters in the PC areas on CIS, but I haven't yet seen them … and I'd love to write one for the Amiga. Mike (Whapping from the UK)

John, Go over to the DTPForum. Look in the IBM FONT library, they have just recently uploaded seven .ZIP archives of almost ALL of the Adobe font library's .AFM files. The files range in size from around 46K to 600K. Chris
