hi, I have a small question here, i was reading through the messages and noticed someone mention a utility call DXF3DS (or something like that) to convert DXF to 3ds files. My question is where might i find or purchase this utility? this will help alot for when we purchase 3d-studios for our dept. and not have to figure out why out Acad files dont convert right. any help would be appreciated!

Thomas – you can get it for the download charges from Lib 3 "Autodesk 3D Studio". Here is the file description: [76702,413] DXF3DS.ZIP/binary 15-Jul-91 301122 96 Title : DXF-to-3DS ultimate file conversion utility. Keywords: DXF3DS DXF-TO-3D STUDIO FILE CONVERSION UTILITY DXF-to-3DS (AutoCAD to 3D Studio) file conversion utility. Converts the following DXF entities: 3D faces, polygon and polyface meshes, circles, solids, traces, doughnuts, wide polylines, closed arcs, closed 2D polylines, extruded polylines, and any extruded entities from AutoCAD Release 11, and AutoCAD blocks containing any of these entities. File includes Intel and Weitek versions. Requires a 386/486 cpu. (DL at 2400 baud using CIS B+ is 22:01) This is a compressed file and needs PKUNZIP to extract it. If you don't have that program, you can also download it (PKZ110.EXE in Lib 10 "Utilities"). Dave
