I have not used my version of ACAD 2.62 for many months (sorry!) During this time I installed MS DOS 5.0. Now I am trying ACAD and it will not run at all! Sorry if I have missed ump-teen trillion notices about this? Any advise here? Thanks

You are in the wrong forum! Last summer, the old ADESK Forum split into three: ACAD, which deals with AutoCAD stuff, ASOFT (this forum), which deals with Autodesk's multimedia (e.g., 3D Studio and Animator Pro) and scientific (e.g. CA Labs and Chaos) software, and SKETCH, which is the forum for Auto- desk's retail products (e.g., Generic CAD and Autosketch). You should repost your message in the AutoCAD forum — just GO ACAD from a forum ! prompt. I believe that 2.62 is incompatible with HIMEM.SYS, but you should check over there for sure. Dave

Chris, As Dave has told you (and the opening menu has shown you), this is the Autodesk mulit-media products forum. However, the reason you are having problems is that both Acad 2.62 and DOS are trying to use the first 64k of extended memory. (you are loading DOS high aren't you.) 2.62 is the only version to use this particular area of memory so the only solution is to load DOS low. (remove the command DOS=HIGH from the config.sys.)
